The CU Bookkeeping Services Specialist serves as the primary point of contact between CU Books and Credit Union leadership. This role is central to the success of each Credit Union and CU Books, and requires a commitment to customer service, over-communication, and constant improvement.

As the CU Bookkeeping Services Specialist, you would serve as the primary point of contact between CU Books and Credit Union leadership. This role is central to the success of each Credit Union and CU Books, and requires a commitment to customer service, over-communication, and constant improvement.

More About This Position

Because this is a fully remote position, it requires regular interaction with customers and fellow team members via remote meeting tools. It also requires you to have access to reliable high speed internet and a dedicated work space free from distraction. (CU Books provides all necessary software, hardware, and IT support.) To thrive in this position, you must have a high level of self-direction and the ability to work and meet strict deadlines without close supervision.​

In addition to accounting responsibilities, the CU Bookkeeping Services Specialist also: stays informed of FASB, NCUA, and other governmental policy developments as they relate to Credit Union accounting; assists Credit Union leadership in the development of accounting policies and procedures; contributes to the development and upkeep of CU Books policies and procedures; and more.

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Credit Union accounting/back office
  • Experience on multiple Credit Union Cores – Fiserv, Sharetec, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Effective written and verbal communication

Preferred

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance -OR- five+ years CU industry-related experience
  • Experience training others in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make rational decisions and exercise sound judgment and common sense.
